Digital Producer: Harjas Project (Sikh Oral History & Music Repair Programme)

About the Role

Sangat Trust is seeking an experienced Digital Producer to lead the recording, editing, and

delivery of high‑quality video and audio content for a heritage project. The role supports the

Sikh Oral History and Music Repair Programme, preserving and showcasing Sikh cultural

heritage, especially its musical traditions, for education, research, and community

engagement.

Supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund, this programme seeks to document and

promote the significance of Sikh cultural heritage, particularly its musical traditions.

Key Responsibilities & Deliverables

Recording and Documentation

  • Use professional grade equipment to capture clear video and audio of

interviews, performances, training sessions, events and marketing materials.


Editing and Production

  • Transform raw recordings into polished outputs, adding captions, subtitles

and translations where needed to ensure accessibility and cultural

authenticity.


Content Management

  • Organise and catalogue all digital files for easy retrieval and long-term

preservation. Deliver final assets in formats compatible with Sangat Trusts

website, social media channels and archival systems.


Collaboration and Development

  • Work closely with the trusts team to align content with programme goals,

maintain high professional standards and produce engaging marketing and

educational materials.

Deliverables and Methodology

  • Provide detailed workflow covering recording, editing, and delivery.

Deliver high‑resolution video files, web‑ready formats, and archival copies that meet

the Trust’s technical specifications.


  • Capture high quality public-facing marketing and educational content that engages

audiences globally.


  • Supply a curated digital archive of Sikh oral histories and musical heritage, plus a

suite of public‑facing marketing assets.


  • Transfer full copyright ownership of all created content to Sangat Trust upon

completion or on request.


  • Ensure all digital media adhere to The National Lottery Heritage Fund requirements.

Required Skills and Experience [Essential]

  • Minimum 3 years in Media Production, Film Studies, or a related field.

Proven track record in professional video and audio production, preferably for cultural

or heritage projects.


  • Strong knowledge of post‑production tools (editing, colour grading, audio mixing) and

captioning/subtitling workflows.


  • Ability to manage large media libraries and ensure long‑term digital preservation.


  • Sensitivity to Sikh cultural practices, especially regarding musical instruments and

performance etiquette.


  •  Excellent communication and teamwork skills; ability to meet deadlines and adapt to

evolving project milestones.

Desirable Experience

  • Prior experience working with community‑based or non‑profit organisations.

Contract Details

  • Reporting line: Reports to the appointed Programme Lead and collaborates with the

Trust’s Communications team.

  • Start date ASAP, 10 month contract with possible extension.
  • Location: Based in the Midlands UK with flexibility for remote work where feasible.
  • Evenings and Weekend work as and when required.
  • Part-time contract, 3 days a week, £150.00 a day outside IR35
